Is Twitter All Just Noise?
OK it seems other may feel the same.
I for find the medium very useful if say I have it linked to my LJ here and I am out and about in another country and so I can micro blog via mobile. I mean that was the main feature of the system.
But of course all systems get abused. Now we have bored people blogging their boring life in bite size chunks for us to read. Rather than trying to string together real sentances life has devolved into one line snippets of bland information.
I mean do we really need to know what everyone is doing all the time? No. It's unsurprising and dull. Yes if say you saw a UFO then a tweet is quicker than a blog post. But really why tweet about every little choice you are making. How about make them and at the end of the day tell us how the day went and miss out the pointless babble about you taking a shit or having tea/coffee/puke going down your throat.
I think being able to write a blog post after then end of a day force you to be reflective and review your activities and allows you the chance to find insight. Tweeting is rather like reading a primary school kids diary. I did this. I did that. We did this. They did that.
So my end point? Twitter I like for quick news posts (new scientist is great for this, the micro dissemination of real information... in other words links to articles). It's good for gig info, the weather, tsunami alerts etc. Not what you and their mum is doing as they scratch their arse.
I think worse are tweets donw from a computer itself. Just fucking write a real blog!

Only the one. We have many others that match the bed linen but they really only come in handy when sitting up to read etc.
What kind of books do you read?
Roleplay game books, horror, fantasy and sci fi novels, reference books on the occult and paranormal and mythology and well science books for work (chemistry of all colours)..
What are your most awesome skills?
I would say apptitude for programming and picking up new programming languages. Also coming up with novel approaches within computational chemistry. My last best skill I think is being a cynical bastard while actually being caring towards others who deserve it.
What's your occupation?
Post Doctoral Research Assitant in Computational Chemistry, with a specialisation in the application of machine learning and molecular mechanics, based at the university of Warwick. My current project focuses on copper proteins while I have worked before on water simulation.
What's really creepy?
The unknown horrors of the outer dark. Things that are of an alien nature and so incomprehensible. Things like demons or aliens or evil that transcends death, like in the Ring.
What's your current fandom/obsession/addiction?
The Joker and Batman as always plus right now I am heavily into the history and culture of Venice and the game Changeling: the Lost.
What flavor ice cream would you choose right now?
Dark Chocolate by Green and Black.
What websites do you always visit when you go online?
LJ, Facebook, Shadownessence, yahoo mail
What was the last thing you bought?
Rites of Spring book for Changeling.
What was the cutest thing you've seen today?
My wife.

IT'S A GIRL!!!
If that got your attention then hahaha... fuck you! No Sam isn't pregnant and hasn't given birth. So ha.... now onto real information.
So I feel like posting. Why? I think I should. Maybe about anything I like and I am thinking about.
So today was a jaunt to Coventry to the wonderful land of Ikea (Ikea has a mad thing about it's font in it's catalogue right now) to get curtains for our four poster bed. So we have got those and we had the joy of looking at loads of cool stuff if we could own a house. My dream is to deck out a kitchen properly and a study. Had a sit on some groozy chairs and look at some of the lights. While looking out the window we spotted a parade of cars from the Coventry Motoring festival, and so there were many classic cars going through the middle of the shit hole that is Cov'.
After marching around the swedish maze we made our way across the city centre to Forbidden Planet Cov... which is shit. No rp books. Bollocks. Fucking crap. So it looks like Brum is the only local place to go to get that sort of thing.
Getting back to Leamington we went for coffee at a new cafe that is quite quirky and novel, with in house roasted coffee and actually serves coffee in an authentic italian manner. Very good.. pricey but certaintly no replacement for Corleone.
After getting back from the hellmouth we have just spent the last few hours watching season 1 of Supernatural with James, and ranting about how friends and how it can be annoying and demoralising when they can be flaky and take your presence for granted. Just because your nice enough to not get annoyed doesn't mean it should become a constant. It's quite sad really when the communication seems to be only one way. You get to the point of wondering why you bother. You bother because you think the friend is actually worth the effort and you value their presence.
I guess to be interesting these days you have to be going out all the time trying to get enough alco-points to get the latest liver disease or cancer. Obviously I am not hip enought for that game.
Other interesting stuff.
Paper 6 is in edit, paper 7 is part done.
Oh big brother being over.... at last chanel 4 has thousands of minutes of advertising freed up... not just program hours! Maybe this might save the economy.
Oh slowly writing stuff for freshers week game for WOD. It's all very dark.

I need to grab Chung Kuo book four and get back into reading it and using ti as inspiration for some stuff for rp. I think I know where I am going with it and will submit my ideas and see where it goes.
