The last few weeks....

It's been nice and strange at the same time being back from Venice. I really haven't been up to much since then other than being quite skint and just trying to get my research to work (when all the tools are right but still not accurate enough you get a little panicky, however it should be ok in the next few days).

Of course I guess the big news for everyone is that and myself are engaged. This has been on our minds actually for quite a while but we didn't want to rush things so we set it in stone in Venice, with a nice ring purchased there. There is no immediate date for any form of wedding (and no it's not a big white thing and yes it will be a small affair) as we really need to first get a place together and I need to get PhD finished.

Valentines day was of course semi ignored, with cards being exchanged (the entire psychic thing being in play meaning our cards were also very similar), and instead we're having a meal tonight, at croma, for the nostalgia factor of the nice pizza in Italy.

The rest of the weekend/month/next month is living it cheap, but it's nice for things to have slowed down since January. Being 25 hadn't hit me until Venice. I'm not sure in what way but maybe it's a sort of calm. Time will tell.

Oh an one thing Sam missed on her Venice write up, we flew over the alps on the way back. I now have the need to going snow boarding some time in the future.

On a serious note, after roleplay on Monday, after getting off near the tescos at Whitworth Park and then walking down to Sagams to head off home I was confronted by two Scallies, from a pack of four. They seemed intent on stealing or harming. I had a feeling it might happen after the crossed the road before me and there was something said toward me, which I obviously ignored as I had my mp3 player on, more than likely why they started on me. Fortunately there was a group of students nearby who saw what was going on and let me join them on the walk back, the Scallies obviously not keen on having witnesses. I'm ok, was not really too scared but more annoyed when I got home that this type of thing can happen on a main road, right next to the halls of residence there. It's not going to stop me taking that route home in the future, but just will make me more aware for my own sake.
