Day 19 ⇝ Disrespecting your parents
I guess the closet I have come to doing this came when I was a skateboarder (yeah, for real!) when I was about 14-15, and stayed out late. That and I hated my father's attitude towards what I did and knew. Like I was always somehow wrong. Such as with the computer when I knew a lot more than he did.
Day 20 ⇝ How important you think education is
I have a PhD, my wife however doen't. She does not have a degree, or A-Levels. What does this mean? Education can be performed by one's self. Having an education does not equate to intelligence. What is important is that all people have the chance to an education. But that does not mean all have the right to go to uni and fuck about. The right to education should be respected. But equally those who do not have qualification may well be your intellectual superiors, so don't think that a piece of paper makes you in some way better.

This has to be Being Human. It is basically everything I love about personal horror in one excellent show.

Day 16 ⇝ Your views on mainstream music
It comes down to this. Listen to what you like. Good music is just good music to the listener. It is a shame real talent can get overlooked in the face of manufactured artists and groups. However, I also feel that is important for people to 1) accept a band they dislike is technically talented 2) for others to accept a person may just not like a band, not because they think they lack talent, but because it is not to their taste.
Balkenlisation of people based upon their taste in music e.g. 'I'm metal and won't compromise' is dumb.

Day 18 ⇝ Your beliefs
I tend towards open paganism/hermetic philosophy, which allows for the integration of science, not it's exclusion. I may not believe in gods or spirits etc, but I do believe in some greater cosmic force, something that is more akin to the very essence of the universe and so in present in all, but greater than the sum of parts. I don't believe in magic in the typical 'oh your become a frog' stuff. But magic of the mind, the ability to recognise the mental energies that can be manipulated into allowing a person to do the things they wish to do. Science is of course magic of world that is well documented and reproducible, so I allow for there to be phenomena that currently cannot be explain by science and so falls into the realm of paranormal and magic.

Day 09 ⇝ How you hope your future will be like
I'd like to be a senior lecturer by the time I am 50, have lived in the US or Italy or France for a time, have two children, and really look no older than 30. I'd hope to still be quite healthy (more than likely through taking up martial arts once more) and have written for some roleplay games freelance. Otherwise I will still be with Sam, and have had the chance to visit Japan, Cambodia, and Egypt. Otherwise by that point in my life I hope that the world will have calmed down after this last decade or so of madness and excess.
Day 10 ⇝ Discuss your first love and first kiss
My first kiss was with a girl at the leavers ball at sixth form. Basically the Xmas party before (she was a friend of one of the girls in at 6th form but went to a different college) thought someone else was me. So yeah basically that was all there was to it. It led to nothing after, and well it's not like I cared more beyond that as I was off to Uni.
My first love was Vicky, who was in the same halls of residence as myself, and was a biochemist. It all was relatively OK for the first year or so, but we grew apart. She basically broke my heart and caused me to find myself (I guess the person I should have become if I wasn't in a relationship like that) and it took a long time to forgive her for it.

- I am a Dr of Theoretical Chemistry at the University of Warwick
- My research focuses on the simulation of Transition Metals in order to design novel anti cancer drugs, and materials for computing.
- I am not a traditional chemist; I am a programmer of some C++, UNIX bash, Fortran, SVL, a little Perl. I am also a programmer of basic AI/Machine learning methods. Thus I know some computing, chemistry, physics, maths, quantum mechanics, and biochemistry.
- I studied my degree, Chemistry with Chemical Physics (hons) at UMIST in Manchester, before the merger with Victoria Manchester which formed the University of Manchester. I studied for my PhD at the University of Manchester, looking at simulations of water.
- I was married in Venice in 2009, on the 25th of Feb, the day after Carnival. I was engaged to Sam the year before in Venice during Carnival.
- I have a brown belt in Karate and a blue sash in Kick Boxing.
- I used to skateboard.
- I used to work in Games Workshop Altrincham while I was a degree student.
- I am an avid roleplay gamer, mainly White Wolf games, or anything with a goth streak in it. More horror games.

- I will soon be doing pod casts for the roleplay game podcast, Darker Days Radio, that focuses on White Wolf games.

- I have no tattoos or piercings, though I may in the future as Sam thinks that it would look good.
- I am very house trained. I was able to cook, clean and iron before I left for uni. I view other men who do not as a bit lame.
- My favourite drink is a Negroni - Campari, Vermouth, Gin.
- I am missing my two second upper incisors. My dental work brought my canines forward to give me a better bite. Thus the fang like look.
- I am picky about clothes. I care what I wear and find men's clothing too homogenous and bland on the high street.
- I have helped write, film and acted in a short film for a BBC aspirations project.
- I had a cat as a child called Bumblelion, named for the character in the Wuzzles.
- My favourite film is the Fountain.
- My favourite book is the Book of the New Sun.
- My favourite band is Mechanical Cabaret.
- I love dark chocolate and view lovers of things like Dairy Milk as barbarians.
- I worked part time jobs at high school, such as in a grocers and the local CO-OP.
- I got a large Megatron toy for Xmas of Sam one year. Possibly the best xmas present i have had since a kid (no really).
- I am 5' 8''. But, only 8.5 stone. This has been so since I was 18. I still have not really changed since I finished doing Karate.
- I like all things to do with the supernatural, mythology, ancient history, history in general, cyberpunk, posthumanism, transhumanism, dystopia, anime, roleplay games, devil may cry, batman, vampires, magic, hermetic philosophy and Venice.

Day 05 ⇝ A time you thought about ending your own life
I guess the one time that it truly passed my mind was when myself and Sam were going through a really bad time. It seemed that life would be easier for her without me. I was thinking why was I going through all this just to prove myself? But I knew it was a selfish thought and not the truth. I guess because I hate giving up on things like that and that I love Sam too much to hurt her like that.
